Government forms panel to lay down diesel use rules for tractors

New Delhi: The oil ministry has exhilarated excessive-degree committee to assist body fuel financial system regulations for tractors to moderate their diesel consumption that constitutes almost 7.7 percent of India's annual diesel use. The nine-member Steering Committee, headed with the aid of an extra secretary within the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, will publish a period in-between document in six months and a final one on the street map for development of the norms in 15 months, a ministry order said.

Diesel is the most consumed fuel in India, accounting for over 56 percent of 82 million tonnes of petroleum merchandise used in April-October.
