Frames for Selling Insured Vehicles in Accident to Payment to Victims: States from SC

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday instructed all the states to allow the sale of unprotected vehicles involved in accidents to pay the compensation to the victims. The prevailing rules do not allow the sale of unsafe vehicles, which makes it difficult for the victims to pay compensation.

The apex court directed that the rule should be prepared by all the states in the current 12 weeks from the date of its implementation in Delhi.

If the present rules in Delhi are in place, due to the rules implemented throughout the country, it would be difficult to run this unsafe vehicle as the owner would risk the seizure of the vehicle in case of the accident and pay compensation for the victim Are being sold for.
