India March, 13, 2019 : The Perak is a historic brand for Jawa, and the name has been revived for a factory custom bobber and expected to be launch in October 2019. It was displayed at the India launch of Jawa, and has a few key differences from the rest of the range.
The new Jawa has a larger 332cc engine – it’s still a liquid-cooled single, but the additional displacement gives it slightly higher power and torque figures, at 30 bhp and 31Nm. It also has a six-speed gearbox. An interesting addition to the Perak is the rear disc brake – it’s the only one of the newly-launched range to get one, and it has an ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) counter as well, which makes it likely that the Perak will offer dual-channel ABS. The bike gets an 18-inch wheel up front, and a 17-inch wheel at the back shod in 90/90 and 120/80 section tyres respectively.
The price for the Jawa Perak will be introduced at Rs 1.89 lakh (ex-showroom), which compete with the likes of the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X, with its custom elements, and the Royal Enfield Classic 500, with its similar single-seater looks and price tag.
