New Delhi, April 5, 2019: French car manufacturer Renault India will be launching its first 7-seater compact multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) Triber in July 2019. With Triber, French carmaker will create a new segment below its MPV Lodgy and market leader Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
The new Renault Triber MPV will be positioned between the entry-level hatchback Kwid and compact SUV Duster in the brand's Indian product lineup.
Triber will be built on an all-new platform. In hope to repeat Kwid success, Triber would be the second car from Renault which will be made for India, designed and developed for India. Feature offerings are likely to include projector headlamps, LED DRLs, LED taillamps, ORVMs with integrated turn lights and more.
The Renault Triber will be powered by Kwid’s 1.0-litre (BR10) three-cylinder petrol engine which makes 68PS and 91 Nm, tuned to the size of MPV matted with 5-speed manual transmission. It is also expected that it will have AMT options as well.
The estimated price of the new Renault Triber priced between Rs. 5 lakhs to Rs. 8 lakh. Once launched it will rival the likes of the Datsun GO+ and the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
